Girl Name Question
If we name DD Catherine and then call her Kate or Katie, do you think we can avoid people calling her Cathy?

I think if you say early on that you dont want her to be called Kathy, people wont. My cousin is Victoria. My aunt said we could call her anything we wanted but not Vicky. To this day, nobody does. Not even her friends.

ITA. If you introduce the nickname you want that is what people will call her.

definitely! that's my niece's name, and she's always been Kate or Katie. I've never even heard someone attempt Kathy/Cathy.

Ditto... all the Catherines in my family are Kate or Katie... no one calls them Cathy or Kathy

yes definitely. My mother is Catherine and nobody calls her Cathy. She is just Catherine and my cousin is Catherine and has always gone by Kate, never got called Cathy.
