so this is...
sort of home related, so I am posting on both boards... I would love to get everyone's opinions..
since DH and I have moved into our new place we have just recently started using all the new stuff from our wedding but, we don't have everyday dishes yet.. for some reason we can't agree... I know this is silly.. was just wondering if I could get your feedback on these two patterns we narrowed down.. we finally get to buy the dishes we want b/c I didn't get them at my shower....and we had no room to store at my old small place.. I like the white, figured it was versatile, but I also like the colors on the patterned set...

We opted for plain white. I love how they go with everything and we don't need to worry about coordinating when we move, and I love that they can be formal or casual based on place settings/tablecloth, etc.

What does your other set look like? If its plain, then you may want to go with the colorful one or the white would be great and you can use other accent pieces on the table. Both are nice!

I like patterned dishes over plain, but it depends on your style. If you were going to get the patterned ones, and they were going to be displayed, I'd only put them in a kitchen that didn't have too much going on, pattern-wise. That might be too busy. If your kitchen has muted, neutral-ish colors, the patterned ones would add a nice touch.

thanks everyone... yea, that's a good idea... I was just worried b/c we are just renting now and the first pattern looks perfect with our current kitchen color, but I don't know what our house will look like.... so I am confused...
Thanks so much!!

Re: so this is...
I prefer the white. It's more versatile and you can always use it with your fine china if you need an extra serving plate, or use as dessert dishes or whatever- assuming that's a base of white too.
Also-- if stuff breaks-- it will be easy to pick up stuff to mix and match. We have solid color every day dishes-- even though they are more specific looking-- we can always add stuff to them to mix and match if we need to.
these are mine in case you want to see..
