Renovation Costs??

DH and I went to see a few co-ops and one that we liked needs some major work. The apts are not huge, 1200 sqft. What is a good ballpark number for the reno costs.

New Kitchen (nothing over the top)
2 New Bathrooms (pretty basic) both have tubs.
Refinish floors
Paint the Entire Apt
Crown Molding
New Doors (7 room/closet doors and 3 sliding closet doors)
Build organizers for closets

We really like this place but we think that adding on the costs to reno would put us WAY over what we were comfortable spending. The owners are aware there is work to be done so this might help us in a negotiation.

ETA: We will not be doing any of the work ourselves. I'll be VERY pregnant by the time we move and DH is not handy.

We redid two bathrooms; one with a shower stall was $7,000 and the other was $10,000 for full tile w/ bath. We did 3 new panel doors (hollow) with moulding and it was $700 with installation. We priced a new kitchen, and ours is large and would be about $30,000 installed. We painted ourselves.

Re: Renovation Costs??

Will you be doing the labor yourself?

You can hire someone to do the job.

Depends on your contractor and price of your materials.

We did 2 bathrooms: 1 with a shower and 1 with a bathtub. $12K total. Complete gut job, new windows and doors.

He quoted us $12K-$15K for the kitchen. Gut job too.

I am going to say $50k for all that if you are paying for labor plus materials, it sounds like a complete re-do

Re: Renovation Costs??

It really depends on your choices and various things like number of cabinets and what kind of appliances, but I'd say between $55k and $70k.
