need nursery idea
I love beadboard and always envisioned it for the baby's room but DH and I are definitely not handy and won't be able to install it ourselves and we don't really have the money to pay someone to do it. Can you please share any ideas to achieve a two-tone look for the room that is easy enough for us not-so-skilled DIYers? TIA

Re: need nursery idea
You could just to a chair rail or a wall paper border to achieve a similar look.

Re: need nursery idea
I painted stripes on my older son's wall, beneath a chair rail. Here are some very old pics from right after I finished. I did it 8.5mos preggo - it's pretty easy.
I loved it - I miss that room

Re: need nursery idea
We're doing beadboard and it's really not that expensive or difficult to do. I'll post pictures when it's all finished!

My main concern with the beadboard is cutting it to fit around windows, outlets, etc. We don't have the right tools or precision to do it. I know the chair rail would be a lot easier but I'm still wouldn't know how to go about cutting it properly. I'd pretty much like to avoid adding anything if possible and strickly stick to painting ideas.

Re: need nursery idea
The only idea I have been able to come up with is basically giving up on the two tone look and paint the walls all one color and then add an accent color. We have built in shelves on either side of the closet so I was thinking of painting the inside of the shelves in an accent color like this...
how else should I encorporate the accent color throughout the room?

How low are your windows? Generally the beadboard should fall below the the windows. Can you put the outlets in the baseboard? idk that's what we have, but that maybe b/c the outlets were that way, its a very old house.
