6 month old gagging
DS Has been eating puree food that I make myself. I haven't changed how I am making the food, still boil and make a smooth purée in blender. All of the sudden any solids he gets he's gagging. We have been doing solids since 4 months old and I've never had a problem. He will now only have his bottle. This is occurring with stuff he's been having for months as well as new thing foods. I'm only doing fruits and vegetables, nothing else

Have you tried a jar? And if so, does he still gag? I found the jar food are much smoother. Perhaps he just doesn't like the mixed consistency.

Could it be related to teething? Maybe excess saliva from teething is making him gag? I'd also check for any sores in his mouth since coxsacki is going around. Hopefully it's just a phase that passes quickly.

Thanks! I'll try all this! I haven't tried jar, container or squeeze pouches. I made sweet potatoes yesterday and added extra water so it's very smooth but I'll try the beechnut jar I read some good reviews. He's definitely teething like crazy and constantly salivating. He's not turning away from the spoon and very eager to eat, just keeps gagging. I checked his mouth he seems fine. They are rarely near other kids as they don't go to day care. My niece is 20 months and goes to day care and recently had sores but I restrict visits and do not let them see her if she is sick. We usually wait 1week to be sure
