NJ Ped RAVE!
just wanted to put this out there for anyone who may need a good doc!
we joined the Summit Medical Group gaggle of Pediatrians in the Berkeley Heights office (they have offices all over north'ish NJ though), once Em turned 1.
on Friday, Em spiked a fever, and at 11:00 at night i called and was on the phone with a nurse within 10 minutes. She spoke to me for roughly 20 minutes or so and we agreed to just do motrin...etc., as it was likely a reaction to the MMR she had a week prior.
Sunday, em breaks out in a bad rash...i call the doctor's office back. They didn't question my 'first time momness'....i told her everything, the fever, my happy baby not being happy, my NON STOP MOVING child laying on the couch with me...etc.....they tell me I can have Em see a nurse practitioner at 4:00. ON A SUNDAY!!!
we get there - winds up she has scarlet fever. they email a script to my pharmacy. I get to the pharmacy and they are closed (they closed early). i call the doc's office back and the nurse asks around the office to see if anyone knows a place that's open in my area...says she'll find somewhere and call me back. Five minutes later, she calls me back and says there's a place closing in 10 minutes - they'll stay open for you. It's 5 minutes from your house....if you say to, i'll call in the script now (which i did and she did).
i was so thankful for that level of service...not only did they help us by seeing Em, they struggled to find us a pharmacy that was open that took my insurance so that we could get the first dose of meds in her that day.
I can't say enough about their level of care for their patients! Their website is also EXTREMELY helpful (medical advice, articles, etc.).

Told ya   Glad it worked out and I hope Em is feeling better

I go to an office of SMG in Short Hills. THat's the part I like that they have drs or np's available almost all of the time. It's so nice to find a ped that you love!
