Ped Dermatologist Rave - Dr. Hayman

DS has been battling eczema for the past 2 months. After seeing Dr. Hayman, his eczema cleared up in 2 days! I am sooooooooooo pleased. If anyone needs a pediatric dermatologist, I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

He prescribed aclovate(?).

We had tried a ton of stuff before we met with Dr. Hayman. It took a while to get through the list of meds/creams/soaps we have used in the past.

Hmmm my son has it really bad. The Dr prescribed him desonide which doesn't seem to work. We have also tried derma smooth before that. Is aclovate a steroid cream?

Re: Ped Dermatologist Rave - Dr. Hayman

I LOVE DR HAYMAN.... ds has two hemangiomas.... one in the "swipe zone" which caused infections and what not do to its poopy location.. he had it cleared up in a week (ped dealt with it for a month)

but what i really love is that he is willing to look at the entire patient even though ds is only there for the butt thing.... ds also had bad cradle cap so he gave me recommendations on that without my even asking... and he also gave me advice on sunscrean for my german/irish/polish/scandinavian child who he advised me would "probably burn in the middle of the night"

love him!

DS was using pramazone(?) for a while and that was at least keeping him comfortable. It made him not itchy but his skin was still red and blotchy. Now it's not red or itchy.

I THINK aclovate is a steroid cream but I am not sure. Sorry.

We saw a different dermatologist who prescribed atopiclair for ds and it worked really fast and is non-steroidal.

DH and I love Dr. Hayman! He prescribed us 3 different ointments/creams to put on DS depending on which skin surface had eczema flare-ups (two of which were already mentioned in the above posts). We use Alcovate/Alclometasone on his inner arms/legs. He asked us to use Desonide for his scalp if he got a flare-up there. We've rarely used the Desonide though.

We saw him in East Setauket (off Bellmead Rd.) but he is only there once a week. We are going to see him in the fall in Lake Success, where he is the rest of the week.
