so worried...*UPDATE* so shocked...

Back in May I lost a set of identical twins at almost 5 months :( We had a failed IUI cycle in July and first round of IVF in August. We transferred 2 blasts that were hatching on their own on day 5 and got a BFP on Labor Day.
First beta 14dpo 291
16dpo 770
18dpo 1491
21dpo 2620
I started to have moderate OHSS right around the time of my 1st beta. I gained 10lbs of fluid and look 5 months pregnant. I am having such a hard time breathing. I went in Monday and they did a sono and didn't see anything. I was just 5 wks Monday and am still very full of fluid but I was VERY discouraged that they didn't see a sac yet. Especially since the Dr had been predicting twins all along. they have me going back on Thursday for another sono at which point i will be 5w3d but I am sooo nervous. I am scared out of my mind. I do NOT know how I will deal with bad news after all I have been through already. I also have some slight cramping at times. I can't help but think the worst. I am not on any supplements right now. I was on PIO but my DR d/c that cause she thought it may be contributing to my killer OHSS. My progesterone and estradiol #s were good as well as my beta according to Dr's office but somehow that didn't ease my mind at all. I am driving myself crazy here. This is going to be the longest wait ever!!! I keep toying with the idea of just going to the ER and see what they say, but I really hate hospitals!! Please keep me in your prayers for a good outcome.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Went in for my sono this morning crying and scared out of my mind after Monday. Had a much better sono tech today and he was great. He knew I was very nervous and was very good to me. Right away he says "well, good news all around!" and then proceeds to ask DH and I how many we put back. We reply"2", he asks "do you want twins?" we say "yeah sure" he then asks again with a puzzled tone "how many did you put back? only 2?" and then shows me the million dollar shot...it appears to be three sacs!!!
He said the one to the far right may just be a fluid pocket, but the left and middle ones are definitely gest. sacs. The middle one even had a yolk sac which was great! We then sit with the Dr who says "Well I told you I was convinced they were twins, especially with your OHSS. Now its just a question of twins or triplets?!" She too said that knowing we only put back 2 (she actually personally did the transfer) that the third sac could just be fluid, OR it could be that one of the blasts split basically right after the transfer. Being early enough to have its own sac and all. Unfortunately at this point only time will tell exactly what is going on in there. I have another sono scheduled for next Thursday but the wait is going to be killer. Hopefully there will be nice strong heartbeats by then and they will know better what the heck is going on. I am still in a state of shock!! But very happy to see that this IVF seems to have worked!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your previous loss. I hope you get good results at the next sono. I know it's so hard, but try not to worry. Chat Icon I would definitely not go to the ER unless you're in pain and your dr. tells you to go there. Thursday will be here very soon. Chat Icon

Re: so worried...

You know how I feel Chat Icon

Cramping is very normal so don't look too much into that...There are a lot of changes going on in there...

As for the ER, my advice ( speaking from experience)...Do NOT go ( unless ofcourse there is pain , bleeding and for the regular reasons)...They are NOT OB's and you will get whatever resident is covering the ER that day- also IMO the ER sono techs are not well versed in obstetrical type sonos at all and you will probably leave there being more worried than not for no reason at all
( again out of my personal experience )

Thursday is right around the cornerChat Icon
