anyone else have a cavity?!
Well I know I need 2 root canals and I am trying tol hold off until LO comes. Dentisi temp. plugged them and I chew on the other side
BUT ON THE OTHER SIDE I have a cavity forming. It is a nice hole now. Can a dentist do a filling? Or I wonder if he can plug that. I just dont want to have to do 3 root canals!
I am just nervous I read online if u need work done ideally you want the 2nd trimester which I am in (22w)
anyone else have this problem?
Ugh I have the worst teeth ever! even b4 pregnancy

Re: anyone else have a cavity?!
I was told when I was pg that dental work was allowed b/c getting a tooth infection would be worse. But I never did have any work done.

YOU MADE ME FEEL BETTER! OMG LOVE YOU
I am still nervous he is going to say that cavity needs a root canal...it will be my luck.....I think I am more afraid of root canals than I am birth. I have had one rot canal before and makes me so nervous

My dentist said the same thing to me. An infection can go into your blood stream, and therefore the babies.
I had a root canal, a cavity filled and a cleaning so far while pregnant (I'm 22w 2 days today)
I would go NOW before you are finished with the 2nd trimester. My dentist also told me that he will only do work in the 3rd tirmester if it is an absolute 100% emergency. You don't want to wait till you get to that point though I'm sure.
Good luck and feel better !!

Re: anyone else have a cavity?!
There is a dentist on community drive that does only natural and holistic work. Golden Dental. They use all natural everything from my understanding, you may want to look into them for during the pregnancy. I went once ages ago and just thought about them again recently.

Re: anyone else have a cavity?!
i know how you feel about having bad teeth and unfortunately pregnancy has not made that stop. i had to have 1 root canal at 6 weeks and 2 cavities filled at 12 weeks. so getting your cavities filled at 22 weeks is perfectly fine. Just no x-rays and make sure the dentist uses the novacaine w/o the epinephrine (sp?) since epinephrine constricts blood vessels. feel better!!!

Ugh I'm so glad you posted this... I've had what feels like a cavity for a few weeks now but haven't been to the dentist yet because I was scared of what they'll do.
I guess I'll be calling on Monday...

Re: anyone else have a cavity?!
I had a root canal last year and now the temporary cap is in and I've been terrified to go to the dentist to get the crown put on while pregnant...but I don't think they use novicaine (sp?) or x-rays to do that so I probably should? I don't know why I haven't gone- I am afraid of the pulling and all the blood but I am also afraid of infection and of the cap falling out on it's own...which is very likely. It's not supposed to last long and I've already had it in for 4 months!!!!!! The sad thing is, is that I am only 2 months along... I was just lazy and wish I had it done before I got preggers!!!!!
