Love this show!

Though I do think Ciao Baby is a very odd and pretty lame choice. Its a chain restaurant! There are so many great mom and pop restaurants, or more intersting locations on LI--I'm a little disappointed.

I have to disagree here... Ciao Baby has two place on LI owned by the same people. Also I think their food is great, also their staff is wonderful. me and my family are regulars at the one in Commack.. Can't wait to see this epsoide..

Isn't that the very definition of a chain--several stores/restaurants operating under the same name and same management?? I'm not saying its at TGI Fridays level by any means...but if you're on a TV show, right outside of NYC, and going for Italian food this would not be my first choice!

A restaurant chain is a set of related restaurants with the same name in many different locations that are either under shared corporate ownership (e.g., In-N-Out Burgers in the U.S.) or franchising agreements. Typically, the restaurants within a chain are built to a standard format and offer a standard menu. Fast food restaurants are the most common, but sit-down restaurant chains (such as T.G.I. Friday's, Ruby Tuesday, and Olive Garden) also exist. Restaurant chains are often found near shopping malls and tourist areas.

I thought the point was to just eat giant food. (I have only seen bits of this once or twice) It seems like that's why they chose Ciao baby:

"Adam visits Ciao Baby for home-style Italian eats taken to the extreme, like Nonna's Old-World Meat Platter: a giant platter with 2-lbs. of rigatoni and sauce, 3 meatballs bigger than baseballs and 2 large sausages."

The restaurant also has to be willing & able to accomodate them & fit the camera crew, etc. Not all locations are ideal for filiming or willing to participate.

He did the food challenge at Port Royal Grill in Islip - by Teller's on Main Street.

They have the Davey Jones Locker challenge that has 7 lbs of seafood to eat in one hour!

I love Port Royal Grille!!!!! DH and I saw some guy try to do the Land Lubber challenge and he lost it big time! We've also been there and have seen 4 people share the Davey Jones Locker Challenge...and even they didn't finish it!

Sometimes I think there is a lack of interesting places to eat especially in Nassau. When I'm on the road across the US, I go to so many great places to eat that I call DH and tell him how I wish he was here so he could try these places as well.

I believe there was a show on the Travel Channel that did go to AA...I remember watching it at my in-law's. Or it might be some other channel on direct TV.
