Woke up to AF *Updated with question*
I've been on Metformin for PCOS and haven't gotten AF without medication since December!
I had a visit in March as a result of provera but that was the last time. It was quite the shock to wake up to! But OMG the cramps!
We'll see if anything happens this cycle!
UPDATE: Thanks for all the good thoughts
Should I call my doctor and go in for an appointment? I don't ovulate on my own and I'm curious if I did or not and if that's what brought on AF. I'm wondering if I should just do OPK's on my own this cycle or go in for a med to induce ovulation.
Any opinions would be appreciated

Isn't it great when your body starts "working"?
I hope this is the cycle for you!

Re: Woke up to AF *Updated with question*
personally, i wouldnt wait and i would see an RE. i was in your exact shoes last summer, although i didnt know i had PCOS at the time. my first cycle off BCP i didnt O or get AF. got provera after 2 months. next cycle i finally did O on CD32 (was temping at that point) and then got AF CD42. i thought the next cycle i would DEF O on my own again, but another 2 months went by and NOTHING, no O or AF, needed provera again. ob/gyn gave me clomid and didnt even tell me when to come back in. at that point i decided to see an RE and it was the best decision i ever made. i did that first cycle of clomid and produced nothing. no follies, no O, nothing. next cycle the RE went right to femara and injectables. if i stayed with the ob/gyn i would have been wasting months hurting my body on clomid for nothing, waiting for an O that was never going to happen.
i am on metformin now to and did manage to O with that alone on CD36 one cycle. but then another cycle CD36 came and went with no O in sight..
also depending on the symptoms of your PCOS OPKs may not work. i get a lot of +OPKs that dont lead to O. its very frustrating.
so i would say even if you did O to get AF this cycle, PCOS is a tricky unpredictable beotch. just because you got AF on your own, doesnt mean that much for next cycle. i would just skip the uncertainty and waiting and see an RE. believe me, its so much better knowing whats going on than having to wait and not know and be upset if/when it doesnt happen. GOOD LUCK and feel free to FM if you need to talk or have any questions!!

I would def. call an RE asap to see if they can get you in for day 3 testing and get the ball rolling if you already know you have problems ovulating. Good luck!!
