Please ease my mind about CVS testing
So, i will have this done in a couple of weeks. i know what it is and how the whole procedure works, but does it hurt? My Dr. says they numb the stomach a little but it shouldn't really hurt. But i need to hear it from someone who actually had it done. TIA!

Re: Please ease my mind about CVS testing
it's genetic testing. it doesn't detect everything an Amnio does and it's not a test that everyone gets done but do to my situation, the Dr. thinks i should have it done.

Re: Please ease my mind about CVS testing
First off where are you having it done and who is doing it???
I had it done at NSUH and my DR was great I LOVED her. The test was done for me at 12 weeks. Did it hurt.....not really but it was uncomfortable. There are 2 ways they do this : 1: Transabdominal or thru the abdomen 2: Thru the vagina
They went thru my abdomen and had to make 4 passes bc of one baby they didnt get enough tissue. The first time they did it was a peice of cake..the second and third pass were very uncomfortable and crampy..... They Dr and tech will work with you if you are having pain or discomfort and should go at your pace. FM me if you want to talk more about it so I wotn ramble endlessly on here.....

Re: Please ease my mind about CVS testing
I had a CVS recently done last January, my daughter has SMA ( a genetic disease) so when we got pregnant again we def had to do CVS, It was uncomfy but lasted a very short time, he was soooo quick, you will do great and I watched the baby the whole time
Edited to say he did it vaginally and had no issues
