My new apt
So I haven't been sleeping because I am working, started my internship, and PACKING!!!!
I hate packing. SO I'm an anxious mess.. b/c essentially DH & I are doubling our monthly rent. We *can* afford it, but money will be tight.
I am just terrified that I will move and turn around and think "man, we had it so good when our rent was so cheap."
but we just don't feel *fulfilled* here. The apt is ours next week & we have to be out of our current apt by July 15th.
I wake up in the middle of the night PANICKING b/c change is scary.... but then I look at my new place:
It's huge, it's sunny... it has a little *balconette* over-looking a GORGEOUS tree lined backyard (to which we have access...)
The bedrooms are smaller than ours now, but they both have walk in closets...
I am so looking forward to making this place my own...
(if the anxiety ever passes)

With any sort of change my stomach does twists that are insane. Taking my test the other day... we won't go into the details of my tummy. I hear you on the anxiety. I think it is only normal. Once I started taking the test I had a calm come over me. I know you will experience the same thing!
FTR, that apt looks awesome and I want an invite to the GTG.

OMG that KITCHEN Dude change is good. Feeling fulfilled is good. Enjoying your home, and your neighborhood is good. Packing sucks I'll give you that
I know how this will play out already, one week in the new place and you'll be saying "Why didn't we do this SOONER?"

I haven't read any negatives, everything you posted sounds like a major positive to me.
The rent might be double what you were paying, but IIRC you were getting a great deal at your old place.
I know you. I know you've done the math and thought this out thoroughly. You will be FINE. Better than FINE. Its going to be AWESOME (once you get through the packing and unpacking of course).
Just think of how much your little boy will love having a backyard he can play in.

I remember where you live now because my FIL lives in the same complex.
So I can really say it's a good thing.
That kitchen is to be envied, AND that you have access to a terrace and backyard.
Good luck in your new home !
And yeah, packing s u c k s. Look on the bright side - it's also a time to get rid of stuff you don't need or haven't used.

Don't I know it!!!! And my rent there has pretty much doubled since I moved in about 6 years ago, so you can IMAGINE how cheap it was...
Thing is-- the neighborhood is just in the middle of nowhere (for us...) I'm going to miss a lot of things about it... but I think we'll be happier in Greenpoint.
