Spinoff of WW thread-WW for Nursing Moms

How is WW different for nursing moms? If you did it, did it effect your milk supply?

I have another 20 to lose before I get to my PP weight and then I want to lose another 30-40 to get to my pre-prednisone weight. Chat Icon

I did WW in college and I got skinny skinny, so I know it works. I am also reading RHONY's Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl book, which is pretty similar to WW minus counting points.

I wanted to do a modified Atkins, but I read on Kellymom that it affects the milk supply.

I do work out daily (I started Couch to 5K Sunday and I walk and swim on my off days).

I turn 30 in January and I want to be at my goal weight by then. I also want to EBF until she weans herself.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Also, if there are other eating plans/diets that work for BFing moms, I am all ears!

i know you get an additional 9 points if you're nursing. they just want you to eat more fruits, veges and milk.

I did WW while I was nursing and the weight absolutely FELL off of me. Plus, for once, I had more points than my DH. I plan to do it again this time around!!!

Would love to hear more about this too!

Mich, are you joining? I feel like it's kind of $$.

Also, can you just eat anything or do you need to buy special meals/snack bars/etc?

Do you need to cook only WW recipes??

How do you figure out points for the things you cook at home?

I'm sure I could find my points for my breakfast and lunch because they're really easy, but what about dinners that I make? There are so many ingredients! I've tried to do that "spark people" recipe calorie calculator and it takes me FOREVER!

I wanted to try to figure it out without joining. It is too expensive right now.

I've been doing it without joining. I don't buy WW meals, I cook my own and try to eat fresh fruits and veggies as my snacks. I follow a couple of great recipe sites, I could share them if you want.
