any acupuncturist recommendations???
hello ladies,
i've been ttc for about a year now with no luck. i am thinking about seeing an acupuncturist to help (even though my insurance wont cover it ). any recommendations to share? i would prefer to see a female, but if you have an excellent male acupuncturist, i would be open to seeing him, too. also, any acupuncturists that you feel aren't so good that i should steer away from?
i really feel like the stress of ttc is making it very hard on my body to conceive (not to mention i'm normally an anxious person anyways even without all the ttc hoopla!!) so i think acupuncture and herbs may be very beneficial to me.
thank you for any input and advice you may have!!

I sent you FM!
I'll be honest. You do feel the needles somewhat, but it's extremely relaxing once they are in and you are just lying there. I wouldn't keep going back if it was painful!

I go to LI Holistic in Babylon. I love it, I always feel very calm and relaxed when I leave there. Sometimes you'll feel the needle but its as if someone lightly pinched your skin and it goes away in a second.
I think there is one in Huntington but I can't remember their name. Think there is a school there.

I highly recommend Andrew Kaplan in Rockville Center, he is a sweetheart, so nice and specializes in Infertility which is great.

Re: any acupuncturist recommendations???
I totally second the recomendation to Andrew Kaplin - amazing! Really nice guy, very relaxing office and great follow up. He called me to check in just to see how I was doing after the IVF. Also prices were reasonable.
Good luck - oh and the little pricks are minimal and once they are in you dont even notice. And the benifits outweigh any little pain. Scientifice studys have shown under u/s that bloodflow is increased to the uterus during Acup. Plus its sooo relaxing =) A must for fertility chicks =)

Re: any acupuncturist recommendations???
I did acupuncture for about 2 months while doing round #2 of IUI w/ injectable medicine and it worked for me - BFP!! With Twins!! I too was nervous about acupuncture, but I wanted to try it after TTC for about 14 months. I went to LI Holistic in Lake Success and met with Debra. Good Luck and hang in there.
