Pregnancy induced carpel tunnel
What does it feel like? The back of my hand is killing me.....right where the hand and wrist meet. My fingers hurt too and as the days go by it hurts more and more, sometimes into my arm. And my fingers are swollen.......my DH is an athletic trainer and deals with liots of sports injures and physical therapy, he said carpel tunnel is on the palm side of your wrist......i'm in so much pain. I am going to call a dr tomorrow, but just wanted to know if this is what it could be. TIA!

my hands would constantly be 'tingling'...and eventually it moved onto being constant PAIN. the pain was in my hands, wrist and fingers. it was excruciating.
i wore braces on both hands by the end of the pregnancy. you can also see a chiropractor - they can help!

Me too - they were not swollen though. I did acupuncture for awhile and it really helped.

Re: Pregnancy induced carpel tunnel
that sounds like it- my hands were swollen too. the fingers will got very numb in the last month. I went to a chiropractor once, but he just gave me exercises to try at home. i also wore wrist braces. not much really helped it though. Its so worth it!

Do you wake up in the middle of the night with numbness and pain and the same time? I have it from being pregnant and sometimes its my fingers, othertimes my wrists. I wear braces and I've been seeing a chiropractor. Advil helps me too.

Re: Pregnancy induced carpel tunnel
could it be tendonitis? i had pregnancy induced tendonitis in my thumb... all pain, got so bad i couldn't touch anything with my right hand, the pain was excruciating. ended up at an orthopedist, with an immobilization brace on my hand and PT 3x per week for the last few months of my pregnancy. once i gave birth, it started to go away on its own and the pain subsided ALOT.

Re: Pregnancy induced carpel tunnel
I'm thinking maybe it is tendonitis. DH has told me before that the pain in my wrist was tendonitis, but I usually wrap it for a day or 2 and then it feels better. Tis isn't going away and gets worse when I wrap it. No tingling or numbness, but my hand and fingers have swelled. I'm 17 wks, is this early to get either of these?
