Moms who will breastfeed - A few questions
I have the medela PIS....when I return to work and even when on maternity leave, I plan to pump
what should I pump into? what type of container are you using?
Also, once I pump, lets say at work, does it make more sense to transfer the milk into a storage bag or a plastic storage container with a lid ( I will need to bring some of this pumped milk to my sitter once I return to work
And finally, if I pump from both breasts, I can combine this milk into one container or one bag right?

honestly with dd #1, i pumped right into the bottles and when building my supply in the freezer pumped right into the bottle and then transfered it to gerber bags (they seal).....right now I am still getting there with dd#2
(and oops,,,just saw the other part, you can combine milk from both boobies....or at least I always did!
 )

i plan to pump into these little storage bottles that came with the PIS. They're kind of like this, but w/ a yellow cap from medela i think
I planned to put the milk from both BBs into the same bottle- not sure if that's the right thing to do, but its my plan nonetheless

I pumped directly into bags and then refrigerated them at work in the little black box thing that came with the PISA. I would put the bags directly into the freezer. Just as an FYI I once pumped into the bottles and froze the bottles. The bottles cracked when the froze and I lost all 6 oz of milk in the bottles (12 oz total. ) So if you are going to freeze you need to put it into bags. If you are going to just use it then it can stay in the bottles, but it has a much shorter shelf life. hth

I know with miki, I would sometimes pump 4-5 oz at a time

how do you pump right into the bag? how does the bag stay on the pump?
I always used the medilla bags and they had a piece of paper tghat unstuck and a sticker on the other end - so I would move the paper to hook over the shields and held them in place.You can get a special bra to help hold them in place.

I'm not even close to this but I have been doing research and read that Dr. Brown's bottles fit on the Medela pumps so you can pump right into them.
I plan on a combination of pumping into these bottles and some bags for freezing.
I read that the bottles that come w/ the Medela don't have that anti-gas thing in the middle and using Dr. Brown's is a good alternative,

When I went back to work last time, I pumped into the 4 medela containers that came with the pump. If I needed to pump more, I kept extra medela pump and save storage bags in my PISA backpack and used those as well. I'm planning on doing the same thing again this time around!

while i use the avent duo... i have always only pumped.... i found pumping into the bottles easier... you can combine.... freezer storing i found useless for me... it lasts 7 days in fridge and those bottles never last that long before consumed... the bags i always found, when i did freeze, gave the milk a smell.....

The ones that came with my Medela PISA are 5 oz bottles (though they can hold at least 6 oz). I also bought a bunch of extra Medela bottles, which you can find at BRU, Target, etc. I pump into those and put them in the cooler that comes with the pump. I leave the cooler in the refrigerator at work. I store the milk in those bottles for a few days as long as I'm going to use the milk. If I have milk that I want to freeze, I pour the milk from the Medela storage bottles into the Lansinoh freezer bags.

For DS #1, I pumped 2x a day at work, and I pumped directly into the Playtex drop-ins with their adapter.
For building the extra supply for the freezer, I pumped early in the morning before DS woke up and that milk went into bottles and then into bags for the freezer -- I found I could more accurately measure the amts in a bottle than in a bag.
