 | Different sleeping patterns.. I have always been a great sleeper. I would always sleep straight through the night, and if I were to wake up, I was always able to go right back again. Now I wake up every night at 3 to use the bathroom and then again at 5 and I cant fall back to sleep until about 6 45 and my alarm goes off at 7.
I am only 9 weeks but this has to be the pregnancy right? Anyone else like this early on?

 | Re: Different sleeping patterns.. Hey Noreen! I'm in the same boat as you 9 weeks and I have difficulty staying asleep, the frequent trips to the bathroom don't make it easier. |

But by then you'll have a baby keeping you up at night...

Wasnt it you who in another thread has said that it annoys you so much when people point out the negative about after the baby comes?? I think you just did that with your comment about not sleeping after the baby comes. We all know sleep will be limited once the baby is born but we also know that it is bound to get better.

Shamrock, thank you for sharing what your doctor told you.

I decided to make hubby lunch and catch up on some reading in my new glider Finally went back to sleep at 530 and then got up and worked a full day......I think it's our bodies preparing us for lack of sleep..... |

For me it got worse in the 2nd trimester. Now that I am starting my 3rd, I still get up at least once a night to use the bathroom, but I can go back to sleep. However, I can't usually sleep more than 6 hours, or 7 at the most! Last week, I averaged about 5 a night. I feel like a zombie most days, and I think it is contributing to my frequent headaches. I hope it gets better for the next 3 months.

 | Re: Different sleeping patterns.. I can totally relate! Here I am at 5:40am and I'm wide awake since 4:15. Just had my first of 3 breakfasts for the day and will hopefully be able to fall back asleep for a few more hours. I'm so tired! |

 | Re: Different sleeping patterns.. Not to disappoint, I will be honest with my experiences for both my pregnancies (I am almost 25 weeks now). I had the pregnancy insomnia from day 1 until I gave birth! I would be exhausted, fall asleep ok, then get up to pee about 2-3 a.m. and then not be able to fall back asleep. Some nights are better than others. I found that laying in my bed trying not to toss and turn so I wouldn't wake up DH did not help. I would take a big blanket and curl up on the couch, and I would fall asleep there! Sometimes you hae to do whatever it is to get yourself some sleep.
Hang in there Noreen! You'll get some sleep!
