4 months and sleep regression
Is this common? How long does it usually last? I vaguely remember this happened with Alex... but the thing is... she never bounced back

Re: 4 months and sleep regression
I'm wondering the same...not that she has anything to regress from...
I hear that it's because they're more 'aware' of their surroundings. But I don't get that- she seems pretty aware to me! Maybe it has more to do with how much more control they have over their bodies with rolling over and such? I notice her contorting her body way more so she can see behind herself.

I'm wondering too
DD turns 4 months this coming weekend
I hope it doesn't happen and if it does, it's short lived

Re: 4 months and sleep regression
It happened with DD...and I remember posting about it and I know a lot of other moms were in the same boat as me around the same age so I guess it is common...For DD it lasted a good few weeks then she was fine and then she broke two teeth

Same thing happened to Hailey, but she has yet to bounce back too! It has gradually gotten worse -- now she is in our bed! Oh, I miss those days when she would sleep through the night! I guess this is my punishment for bragging about it!

You and me both! It's almost worse when they start out as such good sleepers - you get spoiled, and then WHAM, out of nowhere, you get slammed!

Re: 4 months and sleep regression
LOL!! Just started with Ann this past week! The first night I chalked it up to her having had shots that everning. The second night, I was like okay, still the shots maybe (since she wasn't herself totally on Friday).
But it's lasted through last night ... she wakes up an extra time CRYING as opposed to she used to "toss" a little at 1AM and 4AM and I'd bring her into our bed to dream feed (nurse).
This morning she was AWAKE at 3AM so I changed her diaper and got her back to sleep ... just in time for my alarm going off at 4:30
Full day at daycare today (she stayed home on Friday because my mom was up visiting) because DH has a dentist appt and can't pick her up until 6PM. I'm hoping all that activity and overload will get her back on track tonight. FINGERS CROSSED.

Re: 4 months and sleep regression
i googled this last week to see if it is "real" i found an interesting page about it but can't seel to find it now! it kind of "explained" it. i guess it doesn't matter for me since my DS has yet to do a really really long stretch! guess it's good when you don't know what you're missing!

Also happened to my DD at 3/3.5 months, and she didn't bounce back. but we have worked at it and now at 11 months she's doing much much much better.

Ryan bounced back when we moved him full time from cosleeping to sleeping in his crib at 7 months.
eta - CIO worked for us at 7 months.

Re: 4 months and sleep regression
i could have written this myself. My dd was sleeping a good 12 hours. and starting 1 week ago ( her 4 month brithday ) shes up 2 times at night one at 1am and once at 4 then shes up at 7 for the day which is normal but the 2 times in the middle of the night are killing me. shes teething really bad and what ive notice while watching her fuss at 1am is that shes trying soooooo hard to flip over to her belly which in turn wakes her up because she gets so aggravated. i thought it was teething, and then i thought it was shots and then i thought it was the time change. i just feel awful and the worst is that she DOESNT nap during the day AT ALL i try she falls asleep i put her down and her naps are no longer then 20 min. so shes exhausted.
So im currently readying no cry sleep solution. and im trying putting her down quite a bit earlier then im used to. instead of 830 im trying 630-7

Re: 4 months and sleep regression
Same thing happened with my DS...he was sleeping great, then BAM, right around 4 mos his he was waking up again in the middle of the night.
I took a couple of months, but he eventually got back to a great schedule (8a-7a).
