4 month old and nursing

How often does your 4 month old nurse? Mine nurses every 1.5-2 hours for at least 30 minutes. It is making it impossible to get anything done. We have a doctor appointment on Tuesday so I am definitely going to ask about this, but I wanted to hear from other moms as well. I go back to work on September 2 and obviously can not be pumping every 90 minutes!

From birth-3 months, he used to nurse every 2.5-3.5 hours, unless he was cluster feeding.

When he is crying nothing else will soothe him as he stopped taking a pacifier around 3 months.

My dd is 5.5 months old and nurses every 2 to 3 hours during the day. She sleeps through the night. On average she gets six feedings a day.

ETA: she has been on this schedule since she started sleeping through the night around four months old.

DS used to sleep through the night, but has been going through the WORST sleep regression for the last 3 weeks. He nurses 2-4 times a night plus 6-8 times a day. He slept better at night as a newborn.

My daughter nursed that often up to a year ( and still does sometimes), but she got much more efficient around 5 months where she would only nurse for 5 minutes. It's definitely normal.

Also I work full-time. I pumped at 7:30 and noon and was home by 4 and had no trouble keeping up with her. You won't need to pump every 90 minutes! Don't worry

Thanks! Someone commented on his appetite and said maybe my supply is literally just enough or that he needs solids to feel fuller.

I plan on pumping at approximately 9, 11:30, and 3 and getting him from daycare around 4:45. I figure he's more of as snacker....

DD nursed every 2 hours until about 4.5 months when she finally went to 3 hours. She was similar and sttn as a newborn but went through the 4 months sleep regression and we never fully recovered from that until she weaned at 16 months.

If baby is gaining and having wet diapers your supply is just fine. Solids were supposed to help my daughter sleep. We are still waiting for them to help at 13 months lol.

my ds is 3 months old and eats approximately every 4 hours, typically its 5:30am, 9:30am, 1:30pm, 5:30pm, 8:30pm (give or take 15/20 mins)

when i had his 2 month old pediatrician appt ds was going every 2.5-3 hours. he told me since he was gaining weight well to try to push him longer. he said try to get him to go 15 minutes longer every few days...and im glad we did that because every 4 hours is a much easier schedule to handle!
eta - he now eats for about 30-40 minutes at a time. prior to that he would eat for 20-30 minutes, so his body definitely adjusted to going longer stretches and we just had his 3 month appt and he is gaining weight well still
