3rd month TTC
Here we are month #3 and the OPTs have been negative this entire month when I "should" have been ovulating...
Very frustrating. Who knew that all of those years trying to NOT get pregnant, it sure isn't that easy to get pregnant.

Re: 3rd month TTC
what kind of opk's are you using? i will say that back in march, when i was using FR opk's i neverrr got a positive - and got worried, so i went to my doctor to get bloodwork done, which confirmed i WAS ovulating. so then i switched to the CBE digitals... which, while i do think i got a false positive at one point last cycle, i have never not gotten a positive while using them. i am going for bloodwork again to confirm ovulation - so just throwing it out there, that you may want to switch types of opk's and/or follow up with your doctor to confirm ovulation - it's just a bloodwork test.

ITA! All those years trying SO HARD to avoid getting pregnant, and all the money spent on birth control. I remember in HS health class the teachers made it seem like just one time having unprotected sex and you'll get knocked up I mean, obviously that IS possible, and of course they have to make it clear to teenagers so they DON'T get pregnant, but I REALLY thought we would get pregnant the first month because of that!
I feel like I've been learning so much about reproduction and it's only our 4th month trying.

Re: 3rd month TTC
i know 3 months seems like forever but unless u have fertility issues most docs wont do testing till at least 6 months

Re: 3rd month TTC
I starting OPT just last month so this is my 2nd month with that. The first month we started trying it was our honeymoon (6 months after our wedding) and I thought "Piece of cake". Day 1 of my HM was right in the middle of my cycle. 12 days of I was sure I would get pregnant.
So when it didn't happen, I bought the FR OPTs ...I haven't gotten a + yet. Last month or this month.
Right before my wedding in April, I had my FSH tested and came back normal. While i was there I told the Dr. I thought I was O and she said just based on CM it was definite.
I've never temped. not sure exactly how that works. My cycles are 28-30 days. Very regular. I tried going on Fertility Friend last night and got too confused to keep reading LoL
I'm a bit nervous bc my mother had trouble getting pregnant. It took her 5 years to conceive my sister. She went on to have 5 pregnancies and 4 children but it was avery slow go. And she was only 21. I am 34, gonna be 35 in July. I know it gets nothing but harder as you get older.
Do you guys think I should see my Dr. now or wait the 6 months first?

Re: 3rd month TTC
so sorry youre having troubles Do you know why it took your mom so long to conceive? If it is something that could be hereditary then i would definitely call your doctor sooner rather than later. But if it was nothing hereditary, your doctor may tell you to wait the 6 months (mine told me no testing before 8 months of ttc). Cant hurt to call the dr and let them know your concerns and see if they will see you now or make you wait.
Im having the same issue with the FR opk...this is my first month using it and i really think i am o-ing now...but ive gotten all negatives. if your dr wont see you, switch to the clear blue digital; seems more ladies have luck with them
good luck

I have the same freakin story. Figured I would have a honeymoon baby since it was the second month of BCP and right in the middle of my fertile period! But all that and nothing. I keep saying I'm going to stop trying and just wing it, but it's harder then it sounds!
Good Luck!!!

Re: 3rd month TTC
After years of TTC my mother found a DR who was willing to test everything possible to find out what was wrong. The DR found out she had something her body naturally made that killed the sperm. According to her, she had to go for some sort of "Packing Treatments" and I'm not sure how long after the treatments, she got pregnant and then kept getting pregnant after that with no problems at all.
I didn't even think that maybe I have the same thing?? Now I need to research this a little more. Thank you, your post made me remember the actual cause of her infertility problem.
Maybe I SHOULD go to the Dr sooner then later

Re: 3rd month TTC
If you've never had a + OPK I'd tell your dr. You should have blood test around CD21 to check your progesterone level. That will definitively tell you whether you Oed or not. If the number is low (under 10) you'll probably be given clomid to help with ovulation.
Speaking from someone who went off BCPs over a year ago and still is not pregnant...I'd go sooner than later. GL!

testing in the morning first thing and starting at cd11 (like the box said)
It's a line test, I've seen a very faint line
I have no idea what my mother's problem was and she doesn't recall. It was over 50 years ago
I'm thinking if AF comes this month, I'm going to call my dr
