3D Sono - Is it worth it?
I'm still debating if I should get this done. When I asked my OB he said it's a money making thing but I know now is the best time to go and schedule one if I want one (I'm 29 weeks 2 days).
I think the pics I've seen on here from a lot of the girls look amazing....Do you think it was worth it? Who knows if I can even get an appt at this point but just wanted some thoughts, thanks!

Re: 3D Sono - Is it worth it?
We had a 3d sono at 32 weeks. I LOVED the experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat. We actually saved money because we had the sono during the work week instead of during "prime" hours. We just used a lunch hour and saved over $100!

I did it and am so glad I did. I would do it again in an instant. I have amazing pictures and it was such an incredible experience. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Re: 3D Sono - Is it worth it?
I want to add that my family (my mom, sister, BIL, MIL, FIL, SIL and best friend) were all with us when we had the 3d sonogram....it was one of the best parts of my pregnancy. I HIGHLY recommend them, I plan to get another one if and when I am blessed with another pregnancy

Re: 3D Sono - Is it worth it?
my dr freaked me out a little about these...he's far from an old fashioned dr, but his views on this seemed old fashioned, he is against having too many sonos done unless its medically necessesary, and to add to that, he questions the credentials of the ppl doing hte 3d sonos... so not sure what to do bc i really wanted to have one, and of course DH was there for this speech so now DH is totally anti the thought of it

Yes that would totally scare me too, my doctor does a lot of sonos though...just doesn't have the 3D machines.

Re: 3D Sono - Is it worth it?
When I first heard of these/saw them a few years ago-- I thought I was totally going to do it...
Now, the fact that it costs hundreds of dollars extra (and I am not afraid to spend money), it just doesn't seem worth it.
I can wait to see what the kid looks like.

I can wait to see what the kid looks like. ITA. Plus I haven't seen one that really looks like the baby anyway. Most and no offense to anyone, look scary. I don't want to be worrying for weeks that my baby is going to be scary looking

Re: 3D Sono - Is it worth it?
My husband really wants to do this. I've shown him pictures on here of the ladies that have had it done. So, we'll probably end up doing one down the road.
Insurance does not cover it.
My sister had one done with my nephew and he was born looking just like the picture (very adorable, and exactly like my BIL)

you're a nut my dd did not look scary at all, IMHO
she had nice chubby cheeks and a squishy nose
you have to do it after 28 weeks I would think, when they have some meat on their bones

Re: 3D Sono - Is it worth it?
For free- yes To pay for it- not a chance
I got a free 3D and 4D sono when I had my CVS done. The baby was only 12 weeks though so I didn't see as much.

Re: 3D Sono - Is it worth it?
This is not even a question for us. We made our appointment for the beginning of October and we cannot wait!!!!
I think it's a moment we'll remember forever! Plus, they give you a DVD and I think that'll be so awesome to show to her when she's older.
