39.5 week dr. appt this morning
No progress! Dr. said they want to look into plan B now just in case. Get to the reception area and because of scheduling they booked an induction for me August 5th which is only 6 days after my due date. Don't you think this is just too early??? I have a weekly appointment scheduled for next Monday so I guess I can talk to them about moving it back then. The receptionist told me they don't schedule inductions for Friday-Sunday which is why she scheduled it the day she did. Hoping this baby comes out on his own before this time!

I think you should call and tell them about your concerns. . . I am trying to schedule my induction for closer to two weeks after my due date. I don't see the doctor again until 8 days after my due date. . .
I think its a little early, but its a personal choice! I hope we both get progress very soon!!!
I just feel like the due date is an estimate, and if I ovulated late, I don't want to be induced before I am truly at my "due date" you know??

I totally agree. They actually moved my due date up early on. Originally it was Aug 4th but based on my first sono they changed it to July 30th. My cycles were really short etc so I didn't think anything of it. Now I wish they didn't change it. At my next appointment I am going to talk to them about changing it. I just hope he comes out before this is even an issue.

I feel like that is a little early, but I know my doctor wanted to schedule induction for 6 days past my due date as well...their office policy is not to let anyone go more than a week past their due date.

Well the receptionist scheduled it but the dr. originally said we will induce you between 7-10 days after EDD. I guess since they will not do Friday-Sunday she went earlier rather than later. I wish she waited till the following week. I am going to try to have it moved though.

I would definitely try and have it moved if you want--my dr. usually induces at 10 days, but we've spoken about doing it closer to 14 unless there is an indication otherwise.
It's an estimate--and my personal feeling is, why mess with mother nature if you don't need to.
Here's to some labor vibes soon!

I agree with letting nature take its course. I really do not want an induction!
