Ok so she just texted me- her contractions are 3 minutes apart and the midwife team are on their way. I have such chillsssssssssss!!!!
Her sister will be keeping me informed so as soon I hear more, I'll be sure to post it. Whoo hoo yey Maria!!!!! baby Alexa is on her way!!!!! *** ok the update is that she has made some progress but not much. It looks like it's going to be a long labor. She has been contracting every 2-3 minutes since 4am and she is still at 2cm. She is tollerating them well but she's tired and is trying to rest.
UPDATE 2/13
I feel so bad for MAria- my heart goes out to her. SHe is really having a tough labor. Things are not going her way or as planned. After 38 hours of hard back labor, contractions being 2 minutes apart, (transitionstype contractions) her uterus is not cooperating. She has a condition called hypertonic uterus. Her uterus is contracting really hard but not dilating the cervix. She is now being transferred to the hospial. Hopefully she will have her baby tonight...
Let's send Maria lots of hugs and prayers. All that mattters is that this child is born safe and sound. Home birth or hospital birth, it doesn't matter. Maria- All that matters in the end is that you are able to hold that baby in your arms and tell her everything you wanted to say face to face, cheek to cheek.

HOSPITAL UPDATE Ok I heard from Maria about 2 hours ago- she got an epidural and is trying to rest. Her water broke and she is now contracting at a normal rhythm. She is actually starting to dilate now. Hopefully Alexa will be born tonight! She thanks everyone for their well wishes and prayers.
8:20 pm 2/13 OMG OMG OMG I just got a text...Maria is 7CM and in great spirits. ALEXA is coming tonight!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!
*******2/14 FINAL UPDATE**** After a long labor (45 hours if I calculated correctly) Alexa Shea was born at 1:21 am on Valentines Day!!!! Alexa was 8lbs 4oz and 20 inches long.
Happy Birthday little one!!! Big congrats to mommy and daddy!!!! I am so happy for you!!!!
