Okay, So My Bloodwork Wasn't ALL Normal...
I just listened to a message on my answering machine that said my thyroid is high and they want to put me on synthroid.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm nervous, I don't even take Tylenol.

My mom has lived her whole life on Synthroid b/c she had her thyroid operated on when she was 11 i think. If you have any specific questions FM me and I will ask her for you.

Hyperthyroidism can cause a lto of problems TTC and in PG so its important you get it treated and under control. Most likely they will send you to an endocrinologist to have them monitor you and adjust the medication.
Its fairly easy to treat with medication with minimal to no complications.
My BFF has been on medication for years and is fine......

Quite a few LIFers take synthroid. If you do a quick search, you'll find threads, stories and experiences.
I'm on it and it's great.

Re: Okay, So My Bloodwork Wasn't ALL Normal...
Thanks everyone!
I did some research and talked to my friend Kelly, whom I also work at a Dr.'s office with and asked her a few questions about the synthroid.
I called the RE back and told them to call it in for me.
I hope this is what was causing the problems and I hope it fixes it!

Ha ha you know she was the first person I called!
I called the RE and they're faxing my bloodwork results to her at work so she can look it over.

Re: Okay, So My Bloodwork Wasn't ALL Normal...
I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (a more severe version of hypothyroidism because it's very difficult to regulate). I've been on Synthroid for almost five years now.
Right before I got my BFP, my doctor lowered the dosage of my Synthroid to 175mcg and that very next month I got pregnant. If your levels are off the slightest bit it will effect getting pregnant.
I have to be closely monitored (every three weeks) now that I'm pregnant with my thyroid problem. The possibility of miscarriage is higher for women with thyroid problems which are untreated.
Get on that Synthroid asap! Once you're regulated it will make a difference with getting pregnant and staying pregnant.
Good luck to you! Any other questions, please FM me .
