$3.5 million for this house
and it needs work!!! this is down the street from us
more reasonable price but the bedroom with the dark blue looks connected to the next bedroom via a pocket door...so it seems you need to walk through someone else's bedroom to get to the one at the far back?
Update - seems that it's owned by Pratt. There is a vacant lot beside the house that is supposedly also for sale. DH & I walked over tonight to take a look. The pics make the outside look much better than it is.....but with some work it could be fabulous!!! Not that we have $3.5 million at all...we were just being nosy.

Re: $3.5 million for this house
I remember when the first house around here sold for $1 million a few years back. There was a write up about it and it was a huge deal. The brownstone had never been gutted into apartments so it had lots of original detail and pocket doors plus working fireplaces and marble mantles....but $3.5 million

Re: $3.5 million for this house
that brownstone is so gorgeous! Such a great area too... I think the the rooms are called railroad rooms in the 2nd pic? I used to live in a house w/railroad rooms-certainly not a brownstone-or anything near it!but in brooklyn a lot of the homes had rooms situated like that!

I, also, grew up in an apartment in Brooklyn with railroad rooms. If you have to go through one room to get to another, that's what they are called.
Just wanted to add, as soon as I win the Mega Millions tonight, I am getting a Brownstone. There is nothing that comes to close to the beauty and elegance of these homes.

I have lived in Brooklyn for over 10 years and I can't believe how prices have sky rocketed. I remember about 9 years ago I worked for a real estate attorney in Park Slope and I thought a million dollars was a lot for a house. Now the same houses are 3 and 4 million. It really is insane. Something has to give.

Me too - BK for years now.
I am hoping the market in my area keeps going up My apartment is worth 10 x's what I paid for it. It's the best investment I ever made.
