Does anyone know anything about disability?
Thanks for the feedback. I may be ahead of myself. I was just curious how easy it is for them to deny you if it is something your job pays for.

Re: Does anyone know anything about disability?
Who would be denying the claim?? A private insurer, the state, social security??
A simple letter from the MD is NOT (in 99.9% of the cases) enough for anyone to be declared disabled.

Are you a business owner? My FIL was recently denied disability because he is a business owner and now has to go to court over it.

It's a private insurance. It's for short term disability not permanently disabled.

Re: Does anyone know anything about disability?
They cannot "deny" you diability but they may not have to pay you. Disabilty varies by state, company, etc. FM if you need more specific info
Eta they may have denied you because your doctor didn't follow up with the medical notes. If a doctor can substiate the disabilty, you may have to go a few rounds. I find sending legal sounding letters regarding a pregnancy disabilty makes them settle rather quickly.

Private insurance companies are NOTORIOUS for denying claims. You have an uphill battle.
