I have a secret to share that still has me in shock
I found out a few weeks ago that my daughter is pregnant. Just found out from her that she is due 12/30
I'm still not sure how I feel about it.
She is only 26, single & just getting her life together.
I was a single mom & had her when I was 19. It was not an easy road. She knows all I have gone through. I tried to remind her of all her options.
I told my DH he can be Grandpa but I'm too young to be Grandma.

congratulations!!! you said your daughter is single- as in "not married but has a boyfriend" or truly "single"? just curious.
26 isn't that young, and although I'm just 2 years older than your daughter, I kind of feel like I'll always feel like I'm not ready for a child yet.......its a blessing for your daughter and for you!! you will love having a grandchild!

With all of the IF problems I am having now i almost wish I did it at her age... I dont know from experience but have heard from every grandma I have ever met.. The love that your going to have for this baby is immeasurable, undescribable., unbelievable.. you will feel so much different when he/she is in your arms looking up at you.. I can almost guarantee it.. Dont think about YOUR past.. This is her journey try to be as supportive as possible.. isnt that what you would want.

she has a boyfriend BUT she seems like she isn't sure about them being together. She is coming to visit this weekend without him because she needs an alone weekend because she is feeling smothered. That doesnt sound good.

it could just be her hormones right now too! my friend couldn't stand being around her hubby for half of her pregnancy! and they were newlyweds! 
you're being a good mom by feeling concerned......at least no matter what happens w/ her and the boyfriend, it seems she has a wonderful caring mom!

I was 26 when we got pregnant with Emily. We had been together for 2.5 years, and had been talking about marriage (I didn't know he was already paying off my ring) but still, we were only "dating" and were not married.
Over 3 years later and I have to say that it was the BIGGEST blessing ever to be given to me. My daughter is the light of my life, and I am sure you can related with this since you had your daughter young.
Sure, there are times that I wish we had everything "together" before we had gotten pregnant. There are times that I wish we had more time to just be "us" before being thrown into parenthood....
but when it comes down to it she was given to us at that time - for a reason.
Everything will work out. Enjoy your grandchild and your daughter's pregnancy. I wish her the best.

As much as its a bit scary, at least her life is ON track now and it will all work out, look at how well you did! Things happen for a reason, I really believe in that.

she will be fine... my sister had her daughter at 24 and never married... now my niece is almost 14 and the most amazing girl, my sister the most amazing mom. no matter what happens with your daughter's relationship - having this child will only accentuate her life, i am sure of it. it's natural to worry - but if she's excited, be excited with her. it's an amazing venture. congratulations to you both!!
