3 day potty training - Updated with another question
For those that did it, what was your experience? We are on day 2 and I am following the PDF exactly. Yesterday during the day we had mostly accidents and not many successes. I praised her anytime anything made it in the potty. Last night was a disaster. DD refused to go to sleep for almost two hours I think because she was afraid of peeing herself/the bed. I'd put her down and within minutes she was crying and asking to try the potty. I brought her every time and a few times she just kind of tinkled a little. She eventually fell asleep around 10:30 and woke up at 3am having had an accident in the bed. Between 3am and 10 when she woke, no accidents. However I've noticed that most of her accidents aren't full blown accidents. Her underwear is just slightly damp. I bring her to the potty every time, but she rarely finishes. I wonder if she's trying to hold it or just has good bladder control? Today has been a little better. A few more successes, but mostly the damp underwear thing. When did the 3 day method click for your child? DD is 27 months.
Ok so after her nap today we had no accidents and we were doing great. Fast forward to bedtime again and it was the same story tonight, minus the few accidents she had prior to falling asleep last night. She just flat out refuses to go to sleep. I will lay her down, and within minutes of walking out of the room she's crying "potty" again. This was an ongoing thing for a good two hours. She peed twice before the first time I put her down, so I know she really didn't have to go, but I brought her to the potty anyway. I finally got a little fed up and just let her cry it out because I knew she was playing a game. However, I don't want to miss a chance of her having an accident. She literally just fell asleep now. How do I handle this? She has not given me any issue whatsoever for nap time, just bedtime. She normally goes down without any problems, so this is new to me.

Re: 3 day potty training
Hang in there Melissa. Mikey peed for 3 days straight on the floors and then he just got it. I have no idea how it worked. He only had accident 1 time at night. It's hard but hang in there.

Thanks for the response! I am totally not judging, I have many friends whose kids potty trained late. DD has just seemed ready for a while, but I was too nervous, lol. I know she is definitely on the younger side, but I am 6 months pregnant with #2 and thought I'd at least give it a shot. So far today's nap has been great so that's a plus. We'll see what happens after!

Thanks Kristin! I do think she'll get it. She is certainly in love with her underwear and has no problem sitting on the potty or anything. I am going to stick it out for the three days and see how it goes. I was feeling pretty positive up until bedtime yesterday. Her nap yesterday was great without any incidents\accidents and I guess I just expected the same for bedtime and it caught me off guard. I've heard great things from the 3 day method. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

3 day potty training
My ds got it by the end of day 2. But he's been trained for a year now and still will have the occasional "leak".
It sounds like she has it so do not give up. I would say by the end of day 3 or 4 it sounds like she will be great.

Re: 3 day potty training
We just did the 3 day method this past weekend and DD is almost 28 months. Day 1 and 2 were definitely tough. She didn't have many accidents, but wanted to go to the potty a million times! (She went 5 times during a 20 minute dinner). By Day 3 she was pretty good at maintaining control, and holding it for a few hours. Today is Day 4 - we ventured out to the stores. No accidents, but it was really tough getting her to feel comfortable going on a public toilet.
We aren't doing overnight training yet. DD is still in a crib, so we're going to tackle that early next year when she's in a big girl bed.
ETA: I've noticed that she doesn't always release everything when she goes, so I have to gently encourage her to "get it all out" which usually helps.

Re: 3 day potty training
We trained for day about 2 weeks ago, she got it by day 2. We did not do nights at the same time. Partly because dd is still in a crib. Anyways we do a diaper at night, but the past 3 nights she woke up dry. It must be just that the day triaing takes a little while longer to settle in for the night part. We will attempt night training if she's dry again tomorrow morning.

3 day potty training
I tried 3 day and like you followed the pdf exactly. Dd had those same tiny accidents and would refuse to really go. It was Torrie for all of us bc she'd hold it for hours on end until she was absolutely panicked. It just never clicked for her even though she had such great control she just wasn't going to be forced into it. I ended up giving up on day 3 and had trouble even getting her to pee in a diaper at that point bc she was so against peeing. A few months later she was finally mentally ready and she was trained by nap time the first day. Stick with it as long as you are comfortable but if it's not for her that's okay too. Sometimes they're ready and willing and sometimes they're not. When they're ready it can be so easy. Having 2 in diapers sounded awful to me too but it wasn't so bad and didn't last too long.
