2T / 3T sizes
What is the difference between these two sizes? As all the stores start their summer clearance, I want to pick up some shorts/shirts for next summer for DD.
She currently is in 18-month clothing and typically wears clothing in their respective month increments, but I am new to the T sizes, so wanted to ask.
DD will be 18-months in October.
Any advice would be welcome!

Re: 2T / 3T sizes
Usually the length.
Dd is 26 months and in most 3t stuff. Def shirts. Shorts I got her are 3t but 3t jeans are way to long but probably fit at waist.
I find the licensed stuff like Disney, sesame are always so small and narrow. Trying to get her in a 3t Minnie tshirts today was like a bad trick. Haha.

Think of them as 24 months and 36 months.

Re: 2T / 3T sizes
I would get a mix of both sizes but only get things with the adjustable waistbands. FWIW DD is 34 months and wears 3T. Last summer I got her both 2T and 3T items (to wear last summer) and this summer she is wearing almost everything I got her for last summer. There were a few things I gave away because they did not fit her, but she still wears both sizes. For this fall she will be in 3T bottoms but I think she will need 4T tops for the arm length. HTH

Re: 2T / 3T sizes
DD is a September gal and is 22months right now, I'm finding that 2T shirts were wayyy too short and she barely got to wear them this summer, I bought all 3T and they fit fine. Shorts, on the other hand have been fine for 2T and 3T fits too.

Re: 2T / 3T sizes
I find 3T stuff to have about 1/2 inch bigger in the waist then 2T & a good couple inches in length. If your looking for shorts, definitely go with 2T. My almost 2 year old is on the big side for weight & needs 3T for waist. My almost 3 yr old is skinny so he fits in 2T waist but needs length of 3T. Most shorts DO NOT have adjustable waists.

Kissy - most gymboree, janie and jack, and crazy 8 shorts have adjustable waistbands. The soft cotton ones usually do not have them and rely on elastic.

Re: 2T / 3T sizes
my kids don't fit shorts in the same way that they fit tops. they are skinny kids! my DD1 is 4 and fits in 18 and 24 month shorts/skirts but is in 4T tops. My little one is 2 and wears 12 or 18 month shorts. Actually, on vacation last week my husband accidentally put some 12 month shorts on the 4 year old and they closed. i only noticed b/c they were too short!
