2nd time this FREAKING WEEK my toddler fell down the stairs

W . t. F ????? I swear, I read the other post from the other day, and it happened to me TWICE THIS WEEK.

He ended up fine and just had a few bruises and ends up on the landing, but this is ridiculous. Every since we ripped up the carpeting on the stairs, it seems. We didn't even sand or stain the pine yet, either, so it shouldn't be that slippery.

Sick over this. We have a gate in the hallway upstairs, so he can't wander out of his room at night to go downstairs (not that he would) but it seemed he was old enough to not have the stairs gated off anymore.

Is almost 3 still too young to be going up the stairs???

he fell going up the stairs? (just want to make sure i read it right) maybe his equilibrium is off? does he have an ear infection, or maybe some teeth coming in?

I dont think 3 is too young to go up the stairs.

Peyton is 2 yrs 8 months and it pretty good at our stairs. She is allowed to go up and down by herself. She did recently fall down 1/2 the flight. She was carrying something and lost her footing. She was fine. However, we have carpet on ours. I think wood steps are slippery.

My son is still at 3.5 bad at stairs, that would be a disaster for him, I think the fact he fell twice this week is your answer. thank goodness he is ok, though I'm sure your heart has some damage from the scare

thanks, guys... yes, both times were when he seemed to topple down them, not going up. He is not sick or anything, and it seems like he wasn't paying attention. This is a new thing..it's weird. I guess the gate goes up once more.
