29 week doc visit and sono

DH and I got to hang out with Ed-lie "Pinky" Bubbles today at the OB. Here is the scoop...

She is measuring exactly at 29 weeks to the day which is where I am at the very moment. Her femur is measuring at 29 weeks and 3 days and she weighs 3 pounds leading me to believe that her mother's amazon genes are kicking in overdrive. DH's mom and sisters are also tall women too so basketball scholarships could work!

My BP and HER heartbeat is excellent. We saw the chambers of her heart.

It seems as if Ed-lie is breech at the moment but it doesnt mean much though it does explain why I feel she has been tap dancing in my vag. There is no reason to think she won't turn around as I have a ways to go yet.

My doc asked us about how we would like to deliver and he did not indicate that a c-section was imminent based on her position. Should she NOT turn, it will have to be a c-section. I never thought about her being breech as I had been more concerned about being able to dilate due to the excess scar tissue I have on my cervix which made it impossible for me to conceive naturally in the first place. My doc is prety laid back. He said if I wanted to schedule a c-section at any point between now and the day I go in with labor, it is up to us. DH and I decided to wait it out a bit and see what happens on its own.

Epidural is going to happen regardless of the decision we make - no doubt!

Here are some pics. We couldnt get a face shot because of her position:

Awwwwww!!! Don't feel bad. Chat Icon measured 3lbs4oz at a 26 week sono!

There's definitely still time for her to turn. And there are also exercises which can be done to help her flip.

Sounds like a good dr. appt. Your Chat Icon has time to turn. My LO didn't turn until 32w and the doctors said they wouldn't consider the position the (likely) final position until after 34w.

Re: 29 week doc visit and sono

Sounds like a great visit!!!!!!!!!! Dylan was breech for quite a while. He turned before my C-section, which was at 36 weeks. The fact that he was breech wasn't much of a concern because I was having the C-section for other reasons. But I figured you'd like to know that he did turn.

Re: 29 week doc visit and sono

Oh I am sure she will turn. That doesn't really concern me.

Its weird, things are pretty text book for me. I really thought I'd need a c-section because of my cervix but that has yet to be determined. I almost wish a choice would be made for me so I knew what I was getting into either way. It is what it is and she will come into this world however she has to.

I am not sure how the anesthetics work for c-sections, but my history with anesthesia is not great. I get extremely nauseous each time I have it. If I am to have a c-section, I would be ok with it, yet at the same time only be upset because I don't want to be sick when I see her for the first time.

So now, we play the waiting game.

Leslie, I don't react well to anesthesia either, but the MD administering the epidural took that into account, and I was NOT in any way shape or form sick when I saw DD for the first time.
