Wow! Freddy!-udpated at the bottom
Mom and dad took him to the doctor today (our family doctor). He didn't fight about it and went.
He mentioned after that he should have worn his leg! OMG! He never wanted to before...things are changing!!!

I try not to get too excited. he can go from 1-100 in 5 seconds and back the other way just as quick..
Hopefully the meds are taking hold and helping him realize he needs to help himself.

Mom and dad went to the support group that is associated with Long Island head injury Assoc.
They almost didn't go until I made them!
they were glad they went and they found out there's a lot worse stories out there. Mostly from accidents, (Fred's was from Anoxic Brain Damage)..but I think it helped them deal.
I think Fred knew where they were going and when they came back he had a mad face on. he got over it though.
they all told mom and dad that they are doing everything they can. it will just take time.
Good news, Fred's blood work is fine..

I'm so happy your parents went to the meeting. Was this in Commack? I never went to one, but DH wasn't all that bad to deal with. I was able to tolerate him.
I agree, seeing other people in your situation helps you with yours. I hope the continue to go, it will be good for them. And maybe, just maybe, Fred will go with them one night
DH is still interested in meeting him. Maybe we can meet up one night for pizza.

So Fred is set up for PT starting March 18..(my birthday and the day he originally went into cardiac arrest)
he is very excited to start. Big change..I can't believe it.
Maybe, just maybe the whole shower thing will happen too!
I left a message for the neuropsychologist that he saw when he was at Jamaica Hospital. he told me when he left to call him if i needed to talk. he doesn't realize what a PIA I can be!

he actually said that he can't spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair..
that is a complete 180 from a month ago when he didn't ever want to leave it or wear his prosthesis.

thanks everyone.
Well we went to visit Mom and Dad Sunday and we were hoping they would come out to us, but Fred wouldn't go.
Two steps forward, two steps back..
Hoping there are better days to come.
