24 hour live in help for a senior citizen recommendations?

My mom and grandma live together. Recently, my grandmother got very sick. I rather not get too into it but my mom cannot handle my grandma at home by herself anymore. We're looking for 24 hour live in help. My mom will provide room, board and meals. They live in Nassau county. She is currently receivng a home health aid 4 hours a day/5 days a week thru hospice care. The 24 hour care would be in addition to that. We were told that it is cheaper to hire someone independently than thru a home health agency. We're exploring my mom's church to see if they can help as well as other churches in the area as well. Has anyone had any experience with this? Does anyone have any recommendations? I really appreciate any info that anyone has!

We used them when we were looking for HHA for my MIL. You write an ad telling exactly what you need in a HHA Start-end date and people will get in touch with you. You can weed out people do a background check and set up interviews through the site.

We found a few very good HHA from there.
