When you were single [Poll]
When you were single, let's say you were going out with this guy. Who you had just gone on vacation with a few months ago.
Your best friend, single best friend, would like to take a vacation with you. Just you. Sort of like a girls bonding vaca.
Your boyfriend doesn't have the vacation time to take from work, or a lot of cash to pay for it. You've vacationed with him before and he wasn't particularly fun to travel with.
Do you go with your friend?

Not at all wrong...I have tons more vaca time than DH and I would definitely vacation without him! The only thing holding me back is that I don't want to spend a lot of money on a vacation that we both wouldn't be there to enjoy.

Regardless of whether your single, with someone or married, I think that having a good old time with the girls is HEALTHY for any relationship. So long as you're not doing anything stupid, what's the big deal?

Yes. Go. Why wouldn't you? Is there is a reason why you can not enjoy time with your friends and time away from your relationship. When your in a relationship you can not forget about your friends, especially if they have been there for you longer.
I feel it's very important to have these special trips or things that you can do with just friends to keep you close.
If your significant other can't cope with the situation there may be an underlying issue. You're not married (no offense). Go.

I don't think there is ANYTHING wrong with going away with a friend w/o your SO.
Everyone needs some time apart too, so it could be a good thing.

i don't think there is anything wrong with with going - esp if you have the $$ and time to also vacay with your SO that year too.
The only reason I would think about not giong would be if I had to choose between the two.

I have been away without my dh almost as much as I've gone away with him.
even though he IS fun to travel with too...you experience different things traveling with a girlfriend than you do traveling with your husband or boyfriend..well, at least I do

I went on a great 2 week trip to Europe this summer with my girlfriends. My SO could afford it and have gotten the time off from work...but it was a girls extravaganza!!!
Nothing wrong at all. He in fact is going Skiing with the guys later this month...minus me.

i go away way more than DH does. He's a homebody- I LOVE to travel. I went to Australia for 2 months without him.

Absolutely I would go. And I'm married, but I would still go on vacation without DH, as long as he didn't mind. He and I are very different; I love Europe, whereas he would rather go to someplace like the Carribbean where he could play golf and stuff like that. I don't think there's anything wrong with vacationing separately, as long as the SO doesn't have any problem with it.

i can't imagine DH having a problem with this, so i chose yes, but if he did, then i'd stay home. no vacation is that important if he had a valid reason why i shouldn't go.

I'd go with either..... I wouldn't ditch a friend just becuase I had a boyfriend. conversely, I would have a sense of obligation to go on vacation with a longterm boyfriend if he had time off, money, and wanted to go somewhere...

Honestly, I never vacationed without my boyfriends when I was single. I just never considered it. Now that I've been married, I wouldn't want to vacation without my husband. To each their own.

I've actually been in this exact situation. The boyfriend in question wasn't ok w/ me going away without him, but in my case, it clued me in to his issues with insecurity and trust. I went on the vacation and wasn't allowed to talk about it when I came back.  Other issues ensued, and said boyfriend did not become DH.

Even as a married person I would go. I love my husband and I would prefer to travel with him - but if he can't go and I have time and my friend would like to spend some time with me on a vacation - I would totally go. And my husband would give me his blessing to enjoy myself if he can't. It's healthy to spend a little alone time.. especially if it's just a few days with the girls.
