Q - Side by Side Fridge/Freezers

Is it possible for the fridge side to not work properly but the freezer side be okay?

I woke up this morning and found that everything in the fridge felt like it was at room temp, so I thought maybe DH or I didn't shut the door all the way or something. I tossed everything this morning, and we just got back from shopping to replace everything, and it feels like it's still not cold enough, even though we turned the temp to the coldest setting. I had left a couple of bottles of water and seltzer in there and the bottles did not feel cold.

So is it possible for one side to work but not the other side? I'm afraid I'll have to throw up everything we bought today.

Yes it is possible. My Mom's Sub Zero has had the refrigerator working and the freezer was busted. She was ready to run out and by a new one until she learned it was over 6K to replace it.

This just happened to my sister a week or two ago, but she has a LG bottom freezer.

To fix it, my sister had to unplug her refrigerator and let it get to room temp and then plug it back in. Basically there was a freeze up and had to let the fan defrost. I forgot the reason why this happened to begin with. Chat Icon I believe it was because she had to much stuff in her refrigerator and blocked a vent or something like that. My sister was fortunate in that they had another referigerator/freezer to store all her food in the mean time.

Thanks! It seems this is the case as it is still quite warm in there. Good thing we have 2 small refridgerators. Love these unexpected expenses.

I had the same thing happen with the same refrigerator. In my case it was because there was to much stuff in the freezer and it blocked the air flow. I solved the problem the same way.
