$20 charge on my Amex for magazine?

The wierdest thing... I was checking my AMEX bill online and saw a $20 charge that I did not recall placing so I placed an inquiry online.
Amex (online) would not take my inquiry because this was one of their (preferred? not sure which word they used) vendors and they automatically get approved for this charge.

This vendor is Parenting Magazine.

The only thing I can put together is that my perinatologist charged me an extra $20 during my last visit..has this happened to anyone else?

ETA: I vaguely remember the receptionist at the perinatologist mentioning the free magazine but that they would bill me later..

Have you made a purchase at motherhood lately using your amex? I remember when i was pregnant the cashier telling me an offer about a free subscription to parenting mag. and then she mentioned after 1st free issue I would be charged $20...something in that order. I would dispute the charges.

I had the same situation recently. I went to a store, was told I will get 3 months free for any 3 magazines that I wanted. I completely forgot about it until I was checking my bank statement one day and saw 3 debits totalling over $80 for the 3 magazines and I never got a single one! I happened to go back to the store and they gave me the same offer and I told them the situation. They gave me the # to call. I called and it took awhile because it was all automated and very annoying but it did say that I would be getting a refund.

Try calling your perinatologist office and see if they can get you a number to call.

I got it wrong. It was the maternity store. I have the magazines number from my statement.

I remember this offer from Motherhood. I tried to say no but the saleswomen kept telling me what a great deal it was to get 20 magazines for $20. I finally said okay, but I know you they said you can cancel after the 1st free issue if you want.
