2 Under 2 or Twin Mom Question

Do you take your 2 under two to parks. beach, etc alone? i have 1 walker and 1 crawler. Physically I can take them but I am get nervous as my toddler will take off and not stopping running.

Last summer my twins were 18 mo. I took them alone but only to safe parks. Ones that were fairly closed in and that don't have a lot of high openings. This summer they are much easier to take and I have a 3 mo old too. They have a much better understanding of safety and listen better too. I tell them all the big climbing things are broken haha not sure how long that will last though.

Not sure how old your older dc is but I established rules early on. If they run away and don't listen or climb on something they are not supposed to without me they get a small timeout on the bench and if they continue we go home. I bring them a snack and if I have to feed the baby they sit with me and eat.

Not until the older was 2.5 did we go to the park with just me.

I did go to zoos (double stroller), and a farm (it was a small, circular path).

DS is now 3 and my little one is 1.5. But we still don't go to the beach or pool without EXCELLENT help.

2 Under 2 or Twin Mom Question

I was a 2 under 2 mom for 2 months. My boys are now 2 and 3 months. We went to the park alone yesterday, it wasn't so bad. The baby was in the snap and go and so I was able to push my older son on the swings, help him on the slides, etc. I am not sure I will do it once the little one more mobile, but for now, it seems to work.

yes.
my 2 are 15 months apart.
Pools, playgrounds, bounce places, restaurants, malls.
I love to be out, cant stand being stuck in the house.

I chose playgrounds that were empty. Nothing with a busy parking lot close by.

I encourage them to stay together in the playground,so I dont have to be in 2 places at once.

At 2 and 3, we are still doing.

I'' try anything. It's scary at first. But you get the hang of it quick, so do they. I always went out with the attitude "i'll try it. if it's a shitshow, we get back in the car and go home."

My boys were 14 months apart. I always took them to the park and mall by myself.

The beach I never took them by myself as I'm not a beach lover and it is definatley more dangerous than the park if someone escapes :) The only pool i would take them to would be a kiddie pool if i had the option otherwise no.

Once you do it a few times it gets easier.

I'm way to scared to take them to the beach by myself. They are 20 months old and they always run in opposite directions. I haven't taken them to the park yet by myself. This age is a little crazy, because they both love to climb, so I'm afraid of them getting hurt. Everywhere else I would go by myself.

I do, but I make sure to take them only to parks that are gated in now that DD2 (18 months) is all over the place.

DD1 (3 yrs) knows not to go in the street or talk to strangers and doesn't go too far- so as long as she is in my sight I'm ok with her.

When DD2 was less mobile I would go anywhere- she would go in the swing for awhile, I'd put her down the slide and then she would chill in her stroller.

DD1 listens very well for the most part and doesn't really run off- so I may just be lucky.

ETA: there's NO WAY I would take them to the beach by myself- somewhere like that is too open, too many people and too many dangers. DD1 could think she's just putting her toes in and get swept away before I could even react.

Thanks everyone! I have been a 2 under 2 mom for almost a year now, lol but its my first time in nice weather. A newborn is easy but now by younger one won't stay in the stroller without screaming to get out. My older one is a runner and climber!

my son was 2 1/2 when my twins were born. they are now 3 1/2 and 6 so I take them everywhere but as babies I would always take all 3 out. pretty much anywhere but the beach/public pool.

I take the kids to the beach at 7am when no one is there. That's the only time I can take them by myself. My twins are 3yo and my baby is 15mo. I bring big shovels, lots of snacks and we walk and look for seashells.

My 13 month old twins aren't walking yet, so I can handle pretty much everywhere but the beach (the schelpping of a wagon and umbrella and and and and seems impossible).

I was a 3 under 2 mom - but I go everywhere with my boys - I hate to stay home

I like our park because it is fenced in. I use a wagon - my kids love riding in it- so it is more fun than the strolller
