2 month vaccinations
My DD had her 2 month shots today. I think it was harder on me than on her! My question to the fellow mommies- how did your baby react? Any fevers? Super cranky/fussiness?
I'm just so scared she is going to get sick or run a high fever or be horrendous for the next few days.
The Dr said a fever of 101 or so is common and normal as is fussiness, but I was wondering what some real life reactions were...
As a first time mommy I am a nervous wreck!

Re: 2 month vaccinations
DS got his shots on Monday (which reminds me to upload his 2month pics but I digress)..
He slept more than usual during the day and was up more at night... or maybe I was just more tired the next day because I stayed up to watch RHONJ Monday night.. but there was no major reaction.
It will be fine.

Thank you! So no fever? You didn't have to give him any tyelnol or motrin?

Re: 2 month vaccinations
DS slept all afternoon after the appointment and STTN that night. He was fussy and had slight fever the next 2 days but it was fine when I gave him Tylenol.

Re: 2 month vaccinations
DD was very cranky, ran 100.4 and slept a lot. I iced her injection sites and gave her tylenol. She was fine the next day.

Re: 2 month vaccinations
depends on the baby and the shot and whatever else is going on. DS barely even cried after the 2m shot, we were shocked, he fell asleep right after and gave us no issues.
The 3m shots where a nightmare. Coupled with teething, it was a very hard week for us.
Its not really a reaction to the vaccine specifically, but just the foreign elements in the shot that give a placebo type effect, the body reacts as if its sick. If something else is going on in the baby sometimes it makes it worse. Our ped always says give Tylenol after a shot, and be alert for any odd reactions.

Re: 2 month vaccinations
I hear ya, my DS just got his shots yesterday and it was totally worse for me because I was getting myself so worked up days before his appt. He fell asleep right after and slept for a few hrs, but then he woke up and was a little cranky, he didnt run a fever, but I gave him tylenol before we went to bed just in case. He was still cranky today, but now he seems fine and is back to being a happy baby!

Re: 2 month vaccinations
for the 2 month shots the Ped told me I should not expect a fever. DD was totally fine and was normal the rest of the day.
For the 3 month shot (she gets it tomorrow) she could get a fever.

Re: 2 month vaccinations
My ped also told me the same thing both times - the shots can cause fever and not to call if it did b/c it was common.
DS got a fever from the 2mos (slightly over 101). DD did not. Strange though b/c two months later DD got the exact same shots and ran a fever!

Re: 2 month vaccinations
My daughter didnt react at all. No fever, no more cranky than she usually is. She did sleep for three days though. She basically slept, and woke up to eat, that was it. The day after she slept all day, and stil STTN. She only had 2 shot dTap, Polio. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Re: 2 month vaccinations
DD had a short screamfest a few hours after the 2 month shots but no fever and after she went down for the night she was fine the next day. No tylenol.
