2 month old sleeping on belly?
DD sleeps so much better on her belly, did anyone else let their DC sleep on their belly at 9wks?
She has excellent head control but I'm so worried something would go wrong.

Re: 2 month old sleeping on belly?
You have to do what you are comfortable with.
That said...to answer your question:
DS1: started sleeping on his belly @ 5 weeks
DS2: started sleeping on his belly @ 2 weeks
Before I would let either child sleep on his belly I made sure they could pick up their head to move it rather than sweep it across the mattress.
Nothing in the crib
Use a sleep sack
Start with naps first and observe before trying bedtime.

Thanks for the reply - I don't have anything in the crib and she can pick up her head.
I have her in the sleep sack, but do you velcro her arms in?

Good question....ped had told me it's important to use the sleep sacks with no sleeves - open arms because 1-they should have their hands free to move around and 2-it keeps them from overheating.

Re: 2 month old sleeping on belly?
I never did because of the risk of SIDS. There was just no way I could justify it. Even now, my son is 14 months and I still put him down on his back. I have never rolled him to his back if he got himself onto his belly though.

That's what I'm worried about too.

Re: 2 month old sleeping on belly?
I think DD started sleeping on her belly at 5 or 6 weeks. She had good neck control so I knew she would be okay. Plus I probably did not sleep for a week because I'd jump up from my sleep with every little move she made. Eventually when she got older I started sleeping more soundly. Dd's crib is in our room.
For peace of mind you could buy an angelCare monitor

Re: 2 month old sleeping on belly?
DD just started sleeping on her belly at 3 months and now sleeps 10-11 hours a night. I have the video monitor, she has great head/neck control and hey, we all slept on our belly
