2 month old refusing bottle....

Yesterday morning, DS had his 2 month vaccinations. As the doctor told us to expect, he was much sleepier and crankier than usual for the rest of the day. We gave him tylenol as per the dr's recommendation and it seemed to help. He fed normally all day. The only issue was when he gave him a dose right before his last bottle of the night... after he had the medicine, he WOULD NOT take his bottle. After trying for 15-20 mins, we let him go to sleep, figuring when he was ready to eat, he would let us know. Sure enough, he woke us overnight to feed. He drank almost the whole normal amount that he typically drinks, so I chalked it up to being off from the shots/medicine.

Today, he drank his morning and evening bottle without issue, but his afternoon and nighttime feeding he only drank half of what he usually does and then started refusing to drink again. Now I'm getting a little concerned since this is not like him at all.

Should I call the ped tomorrow? Any other advice??

DD is always "off" for a few days after her shots, and I've always found the 2nd day to be the worst. I know it's easier said than done when it's happening to your own DC, but I honestly wouldn't be overly concerned. He's not eating as well, I know, but it sounds like he's doing pretty good. Of course, don't ever hesitate to call your ped if it'll make you feel better, but honestly I wouldn't worry too much. I bet he will be back to his old self in another day or 2!

Sounds pretty typical for a 2 month old. It may be because he's uncomfortable from the vaccines...or it could just be a coincidence. Sometimes babies just aren't as hungry as other days. Unless he is totally refusing all bottles (which he's not, by your description), I wouldn't worry.

Very typical. Don't worry. Babies cannot let themselves starve. Just follow his cues.
