9 month old refusing the bottle
I have a 9 month old and lately he has been refusing to drink his bottle. This has been going on for the last two weeks but we have been giving it to him just before he falls asleep and he drinks the whole 8oz. Now its at the point that he just wont take it at all. He screams and shuts his mouth. He is having a bottle a day if that. He only wants actual food. I thought it was because he wan't hungry so I didn't force it but he is hungry because if I give him cereal or food he will gobble it down.
What to do I do? I am concerned because he is not getting enough formula per day and isn't getting the liquids he needs.
I have tried the sippy cup but he wants nothing to do with it.
Any suggestions on what to do? I have no more ideas left. Should I change to regular milk? My pediatrician had told me that I can switch at 10 months. Has anyone else dealt with this at 9 months? I don't know if its a phase or if something is wrong?
Any advice would be great.
TIA.

Re: 9 month old refusing the bottle
Is he teething?
DD would go through this phase when she was teething. She would refuse the formula but not refuse the solids. It would always be short lived until the teeth broke through. If this is not a daily occurrence then I would not be too concerned but to ease your concerns maybe you should call your ped. HTH.

Re: 9 month old refusing the bottle
I don't think he is teething. He isn't fussy or anything just refuses to drink the bottle. I am going to put another call to the ped. When I called last week she wasn't too concerned because he was still getting a few bottles a day, but now he is barely having one.
Is it possible that he just doesn't like the formula anymore?

Here is a link to a thread on the same topic. I posted on this thread because I was experiencing the same with DD. It seems to be somewhat of a "normal" occurence at that age. I am still not sure if it is teething related, increased solids or something else.
One technique that helped DD was to give the formula before the solids (i.e. bottle at noon and lunch at 12:30 or 12:45).
