2, 4 or 5 TB storage for external hard drive
I'm only looking to store pictures from my camera and phone pictures/videos. I don't think I really have anything else to put on it. What amount of storage is best?

I have 1 tb. That was the largest at the time. I have about 10 years of pictures and still about 500gb left.

I had only 100 GB when I first bought my storage years ago. And I do have a good amount of pics stored on it. I think 2TB should be enough.

Re: 2, 4 or 5 TB storage for external hard drive
Videos take up a huge amount of space, and camera pics are only getting bigger over time, based on the megapixel resolution.
1TB should be plenty, but if the price difference isn't much, I would get a 2TB.
Also, keep in mind that ALL hard drives WILL FAIL! For most people, that failure point is theoretically years after you've stopped using it, but it is sometimes during it's active usage. Keep at least two copies of all photos, either on two different drives, or a local drive and on-line storage.

What do you use for online storage?

Any idea whats the limit for Google Photos and Google Drive (free not paying for the advanced plans)
Apple gives 5 gigs for free and that goes really quickly

Google Photos gives users free, unlimited storage for photos up to 16 megapixels and videos up to 1080p resolution.
For most people, that's at or below their camera's resolution (and even if it has to scale it down a bit, it's still very good resolution), so for most people, you have unlimited storage for free.
