1st day potty training...normal?

I started potty training DS today but we've been prepping for a month or two. He's only made it to the potty 1 time today Is this normal? He's had about 12 accidents on the floor.

I've been searching the internet and this does seem normal but I guess I wanted reassurance because it seems like an awful lot. I do know that some will say he's probably not ready...I do no think this is the case. He does seem very ready and has even told me beofre today that he needs to go "pee" and we've made it to the potty. Figures today of all days he's no cooperating.

Can someone tell me what their first day was like? Is day 2 better?

He's been naked all day and I'm going to do the same tomorrow...just looking to see what others have been through.

yes! the first day i had two "peed" pillows, a chair, couch and 12 "pees" on the floor

also throw in 2 pooped underwears!

Accidents must happen! That is how the "get it"..by day 2 we had 2 accidents and day three there was none

Our first day DD had 4-5 accidents and made it to the bathroom 1 time. I honestly questioned whether she was ready, but we plowed on and it got better.

It's been 1.5 weeks and now she has had 1-2 accidents a day. She makes it for number 1, does not really make it for number 2.

So, I think what you are going through is normal.

haha your day one pretty much sounds like mine. he's gone potty once today. he is on the younger side 21months but we've been introducing him to the potty for about 2months and he's been watching the elmo dvd for about a month. last week he was telling me he had to go "pee" and went on the potty. i do think he's ready but just being stubborn today.

i'm going to at least give it a week...i think he'll get it (hopefully).
