18 mo-old suddenly clingy/crying
I know it's probably normal, but I need tips on how to get her over her fear and shyness.
She's twin B, my girly-girl, and miss sensitive. But, all of a sudden she cries for every little thing. New people coming over, going to an unfamiliar place, and she's stuck around my neck like a monkey. Ugh, sometimes I am so embarrassed.
She is fine at grandma's, nonna's and her aunties' and uncles' houses. Playdates have been a nightmare. This just started 2 weeks ago.
Any advice?

My DD (15 mos) is the same way. She actually screamed all throughout her Easter portraits yesterday, and I was there the whole time. We had to buy a stroller where she faces us because otherwise she will scream.
I don't know what to do either, except model comfort with a situation.
When we are with extended family (I.e. My aunts and uncles that she only sees every few months), she actually does better if I hand her over and leave the room. As long as I'm in sight, she will scream for me.

no advice, but I've been told repeatedly that it's very normal around that age. dd is just turning 17 months and has been going through it as well.

My dd is going on 18 months and seems to be going through the same thing. Nap times are the worst. It's like she doesn't want to go to sleep either because she doesn't want to be away from me or she doesn't want to miss anything. She fights me so hard and refuses to let me nurse her or rock her which were always two sure fire ways to get her to sleep. Now she just screams and cries in her crib until I give and and get her. She wakes up a lot during the night too. I hope this phase passes quickly. It's exhausting! She's also been afraid of other kids lately. It's strange because she's always been so social. But now she cries and wants to be picked up when we're around other kids.
