 | Getting close to the 1 year mark.... If we don't conceive by September, I am going to a specialist. Actually, both my DH and I will be.
What is the first step? I mean, I will go to my gyn but then who will she most likely refer me to??

 | Re: Getting close to the 1 year mark.... Yep my OBGYN started running tests. Blood work, endometrial biopsy, orderd an HSG. Now she said she wants me to go see an infertility specialist.
If you havent started testing through your OBGYN she may want to start that way and then, if necessary, send you to an RE.

Good luck, I'm sorry you haven't had better luck.

		| | Re: Getting close to the 1 year mark.... My old GYN was not doing any testing nor did it appear he was going to send me for any so I jumped the gun and went to a RE on my own. I'm am glad I did After 1 year of trying on our own, I had success on my 3rd IUI with the RE (so it was a total of 14 months trying) |

 | Re: Getting close to the 1 year mark.... I wish it didn't have to be so hard for so many of us. My OB/GYN ordered an HSG and bc my tubes are blocked, I was referred to an RE to do IVF. Make sure you seek help at exactly your 1 yr mark; I wish I hadn't waited this long. Your OB/GYN may also run blood tests and have your DH do a semen analysis. Also, she may have you get a TSH test. This is what my doctor did. GL! |

 | Re: Getting close to the 1 year mark.... I started talking to my OBGYN about TTC and not having success after trying for 4 months ( I lied and said it was 9 months of trying) and he immediately ordered blood tests for me, a semen anaylsis for DH and said he would take it from there!
 Good luck!
