yeah...im not complaining either.
Random house just axed a bunch of people a few weeks ago. But thats typical. They hire a bunch and then months later they're let go.
Lots of pple have left Penguin to go to random house, and find them selves back at penguin..LOL.
Harper collins started laying people off too.
For now..knock wood, Penguin is holding its own.

I know. i've been pretty lucky. august will be 5 years im with the company..i get a bonus week of vaction too b/c of it!!
Previously i worked at a family owned Scientiific publisher, Marcel Dekker...when Marcel retired in 2003..his sons sold it like a month later to Taylor and Francis. 99% of the company was laid off. i was kept, but i left a few months later for Penguin.
evetually i'll see if i can find a Philly based publisher to work at.

I was actually truthful with him....told him we've been actively "aware" trying for 4 months, not being safe for 5...so tech. going on cycle #6 & that I was just concerned. We just talked....actually Matt, him and I did. He was so awesome Heather it wasn't even funny & I'm thankful that I had switched practices before TTC. We talked for a good 45 minutes, and explained so much...even like "how to get pregnant" (not that I dont know how) but he was drawing diagrams. Told me the OPKs aren't the best things to use but aren't these horrible things to use either but he said the most important thing to look out for is your cervical mucus, he couldn't stress it enough. He gave me this nurses # who strictly teaches woman not about their menstrual cycles (which is what we as woman are really only taught about) but what goes on after your menstrual cycle...your ovulation cycle.
He was comforting. He made me a little less stressed,. he said since I've only been off BCP since July, that I am still "safe" and doesn't want to start poking at me for no reason. He said if within 2 months, I'm not calling him to tell him I'm pg., then we'll meet that road at that time.

I worked for Professional Sports Publications....they got bought out and while most got laid off, I was safe but ended up not liking what my position was being turned into. (they made PMs make ads....it was so weird)
Then I worked for The Source Magazine.......6 months later, I left b/c they were talking bankruptcy and I was like ohhhhh he ll no, I'm leaving now lol
