10 month old biting me - Help!
What do I do about this? He bites me if I am blocking him from something he wants. He bites me if he wants to get down and I'm holding him.
I sternly tell him "No Biting" but I don't think he gets it yet (as he laughs in my face....so maybe he DOES get it and is just mocking me  )
I have seen him try to bite Jack so I really want to nip this in the bud (Pun intended) before he gets him because those are some sharp teeth!

What a little devil!
Colin doesn't have any teeth so he has no weapon yet
I think all you can do is a firm no and redirect him - I can't imagine there's much more you can do at that age

at 15 months and almost 15 teeth - it hurts more - TRUST me.
i'm VERY curious if anyone has any advice...i've gotten so many bruises from her biting me...i stick with the NO...but it doesn't seem to help.

We are having a biting problem with my DD. She mostly bites herself though, but actually bit another kid at daycare last week.
She is just about 19 months old and does it when she is frustrated and can't communicate what she wants or when she needs help.
We've asked the ped about this. He said, it's not anything unusual at this age, but that she does need to be "punished" for biting... i.e. explaining why biting is bad, and putting her in a time out (even though she doesn't quite get what time out is).
He also said unfortunately, this can go on until the age of 3!
The only thing we've been doing is trying to stop her before she does it, and if she does do it, tell her "NO Biting" in a stern voice, and sit her somewhere safe until she calms down.

josh was a biter.
15 mos was his first bite. I was going to lose my mind.
It went on until he turned 2.
Nothing I ever did helped the situation other then hovering over him and diving in before the bite.

our ds started biting around 11 months and is just about through this phase-now 18 months.
when he is around other children i do my absolute best to avoid him biting but it has happened 2x with two very close friends. thankfully they understand.
when he bites me or his sister or anything/anyone, i firmly tell him no and put him in time out.
it works sometimes, it is a LOT better than it was 7 months ago.
now mostly, i worry about him pulling the girls hair rather than biting since he hasnt bit anyone in a couple of months.
good luck. it is not an easy phase..
