1 year old sleep advice

Ok, I'm hoping someone can help me out....Background: DD just turned 1 a few weeks ago, I had always rocked her to sleep up until probably 6 weeks or so ago. I started putting her down in her crib, hoping she would just fall asleep- but she hasn't, she cries until she falls asleep. Its been 6 weeks and she's still doing it!!!!! I always hear people on her say it took a few days and they learned to fall asleep on their own. Am i doing something wrong here???? Chat Icon She was crying herself to sleep and sleeping through the night for a couple of weeks, then she got a reaction to her shots and hasn't slept through the night since. She constantly wakes up multiple times crying, but eventually goes back to bed. But it wakes me and then i'm up the whole night. Am i doing something wrong here? I feel like somethings going on and i just can't figure it out Chat Icon Any advice would be appreciated!!

Re: 1 year old sleep advice

I used the CIO (cry it out) method for both of my DDs after 6 months old to go to sleep. Luckily, I didn't really have to do much, as they took to it quickly but it is the most effective way that I have used to make them go to sleep on their own. I highly recommend picking up a copy of "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." It catalogues every sleep issue imaginiable and gives you suggestions on how to handle it.

Is it possible that your DD is teething? My DD#2 is 14 months old and is a teething misery right now. Maybe, it is waking her up during the night?
