1/28 is 20 years since Challenger Explosion
Do you rmember where you were or what you were doing? I was 8 years old and I remember being at the library in my elementary school because it was the first time we ever saw a space shuttle take off. I remember thinking how awesome it was to be Krista McAuliffe, a TEACHER, going in a space shuttle

We had a snow day from school and we were in the Acme (food store) and the check-out girl told us.
I cried, because we had gone to see Sally Ride speak at a Women's Career day a couple weeks before and I had decided I wanted to be an astronaut.

I was in 8th grade learning computers on the Apple iie computer! The TV was on in the classroom, I remember seeing it all unfold.

I was in the first grade. I asked a girl at work that and realized she's only 19 and wasnt born yet. I really felt old

I was in H.S. and remember watching in it on TV. We had video taped it for the entire family to watch together at night. I remember everyone being confused as to what happened and just waiting by the seats of our pants until anyone understood what our eyes just showed us.
Remember, they didn't know at first - there was so much confusion

I was in the 7th grade. They had the whole school lin the cafeteria to watch it. We all just sat there not really understading what had just happened. It was very surreal.

I don't remember what grade I was in but I do remember being in school and watching it on TV in the classroom. It was so sad, I think everybody cried.

I remember exactly... I was in HS but was home because it was regents week. My mother was outside warming up the car and we were going to the supermarket. I told her I'd be out as soon as the shuttle went up. She had to come back in because I never went out. I just sat there transfixed to the television watching it over and over again.

I was in 8th grade too. We had a half day for mid-terms and when my dad picked me up he told me about it. We went home and sat in front of the tv, watching the coverage.

I was sitting in my classroom, they brought in a TV (which was something they never did, it was catholic school) classes combined to watch on tv, everyone was so excited. When it took off we were cheering, and then I remember the teacher just shutting the TV off all of a sudden and sitting down at her desk and putting her head down. Didn't find out what actually happened til I got home and mom told me.
